🏪 Coinbase opens NFT marketplace to all users
In one of our previous newsletters, we talked about the beta version of Coinbase which was released just to a selected group of people. We were part of the beta testers and we have included some insights if you want to read them.
After a period of six months in beta testing, Coinbase opened doors to their marketplace for everyone.
Although, we can argue about some of the existing features in their marketplace, I do believe that Coinbase NFT marketplace will definitely onboard more people in the space considering that their Coinbase app is widely used.
They will most likely get some of the market share from OpenSea on secondary trading for NFTs, which will benefit users as OpenSea has been operating like a monopoly so far. Coinbase NFT marketplace mentioned that there will be 0% Coinbase fees for a limited time, which will gain some traction for sure. Also, the ability to build a followers base and comment on each other’s jpegs, would give people chances to connect with each other because as of now most of the audience built was through Twitter or Discord.
They also partnered with Bored Ape Yacht Club to produce a Movie Trilogy called “The Degen Trilogy” as a marketing initiative for their marketplace launch. They are aiming for premiere on June 2022 during NFT.NYC annual event.
🤠 Elon Musk raises money from other investors
It appears to be that the $43 billion offer from Elon to buy Twitter is it not going to be his money only as he got $7.14 billion from outside investors as well.
Below is the list with the investor’s name as well as they amounts they have committed.
List includes well known investors such as Sequoia, VyCapital etc. However, one that caught my attention is Binance. They have invested $500 million as well. For those not familiar with Binance, it is the biggest crypto exchange in the world.
It is fair to imply that something crypto related is brewing behind the scenes and it is coming on Twitter soon. Although they have introduced the tip jar where you can tip people on Twitter using cryptocurrency, I would expect bigger adoption from now on, especially knowing Elon’s interest on Dogecoin and bringing investors such as Binance.
Elon already started thinking about making some changes on Twitter. The crazy part, which I kinda love it is that he will be charging government users as well. 😂

Willy Woo is a well known Bitcoin analyst in the space. He brings into perspective the long-term holding which I believe, us as a crypto investors tend to forget. Apparently, BTC has outperformed all other asset classes in returns for the last 4 years.
